AFCAT 2014 Application Form, Last Date to Apply, Confirmation

Indian Air Force has recently released notification of AFCAT examination for the enrollment of both Male and female candidates in IAF as Commissioned Officer for three categories which are Flying, Technical, and Ground Duty Branches.

The dates for applying are from 14-12-13 to 12-1-14. This examination for recruitment is a boon for the individuals who want to make career in Indian Air Force. The additional details in detailed description are provided below:

AFCAT 2014 Exam Vacancy Details

Flying Branch:

  • Male- No. 15 Short Service Commission (15 SSC) Course
  • Female- No. 44 Short Service Commission (44 SSC) Course

Ground Duty Branches:

  • Male-

No. 137 Ground Duty Officers (137 GDOC) Course (Permanent Commission)

No. 30 Short Service Commission (30 SSC) Course

  • Female- No. 46 Short Service Commission (46 SSC) Course

Technical Branch:

  • Male-

No. 86 Aeronautical Engineers (86 AEC) Course (Permanent Commission)

No. 58 Short Service Commission (58 SSC) Course

  • Female–

No. 58 Short Service Commission (58 SSC) Course

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Age of the candidates will be calculated as on 01-01-2015. Age relaxation for the considerable candidates will be as per the rules. The age relaxation for different categories is as below:

Flying Branch:  Between 19 to 23 years for both male and female

Ground Duty Branches:  For Ground Duty Branch the age criteria are as per the educational Qualification, which is categorized below. The age criteria are same for both male and female.

  • Graduates: Between 20 to 23 years
  • Post Graduates/LLB (5 year integrated course): Between 20 to 25 years
  • LLB Graduates ( 3 years after graduation ): Between 20 to 26 years
  • MED/Ph D/ CA/ ICWA: Between 20 to 23 years
  • Technical Branch: Between 18 to 28 years for both male and female

Educational Qualifications: The desired educational qualification for different categories is provided below:-

  • Flying Branch & Ground Duty Branch: Graduation/ Post Graduation Degree
  • Technical Branch: Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics, Mechanical) with minimum of 60% marks in Engineering

Application Procedure:

Candidates can apply to the above courses if they meet the eligibility criteria by logging in IAF recruitment link i.e, and filling the required details. There is no application fee. And AFCAT application forms closing date is 12th January.

Selection Procedures:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in AFCAT test which will be followed by Intelligence, Group, Psychological, Medical Examination and then the final Interview round which will be done by Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs).

The candidates, who are applying in Flying Branch, will also have to appear for Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT). The AFCAT examination is scheduled on 23 -02-14.
