CAT Eligibility Criteria 2014 – Education, Age Detail

The candidates who completed their graduation or left with one year to complete their graduation can fill the application form for CAT 2014. Before applying for CAT, the applicants should fulfill the criteria that says- the applicant should secure at least 50% aggregate or CGPA in the graduation or the applicant also apply if he is qualified equivalent to this prescribed criteria and the qualification should be documented by the HRD ministry, government of India.

Release of 5% id given to the candidates of PWD/DA/ST/SC, so they just need 45% marks in the graduation. Reservation norms are also used for the castes:

  • 15.00% reservation for scheduled caste.
  • 7.50% reservation for scheduled tribe.
  • 27.00% reservation other backward classes (non-creamy layer).
  • 3.00% reservation for those who are differently able.

Common admission test (CAT) held to provide admissions not only in 13 IIMs but also in other professional colleges which offer MBA course.

It is a national level exam that is going to be conducted on two date’s: November 16 and November 22 2014 and the applicants can choose the dates according to their convenience. The commencement of the exam has been done by the IIMs on July 27 2014.

Lots of students will fill CAT application forms and they will be appeared in the IIM common admission test and the department has already published the CAT Notification 2014 online.

This computer based exam is held in different cities and the candidates can choose the available slots of their choice. It is 100 mark question paper divided equally between two sections: namely quantitative ability and data representation & logical reasoning and verbal ability.

The time duration is 170 minutes which was only 140 minutes last year of their choice and jumping from section to other is also possible this year. For more information about the pattern of the test, the official website can be visited by the candidates.

Through the score of CAT the candidate can get admission in any institute fulfilling some other requirements of the institutes that include ability to discuss, performance in academics, projects and the interview. The candidate having these qualities can easily get admitted in the institute of his choice.

It the aspirant qualify the exam than a certificate from the principal of college or registrar of institute stating that the candidate has acquire the bachelor degree fulfilling  the requirements should be submitted by the candidate before 30 June 2015.

Candidates who don’t have CAT syllabus, so they need to know the correct pattern and prepare regularly for this test.

Registrations has started from August 6, 2014 an will be ended on September 30 2014. Admit card would be released on Oct 16 2014 and the third week of December 2014 is decided to declare the results.
